This group takes responsibility for progressing sustainable environmental measures in the Parish, including saving energy in your home.

Oakington and Westwick is associated with the Sustainable Parish Energy Partnership, which is a South Cambridgeshire District Council initiative to help communities use energy efficiently and generate energy locally.

For further details on SPEP see the SCDC information here.

Please note that there are currently Government Grants available to help with home insulation and energy improvements.  See the News item dated 7/7/2014 on this website.

The District Council also has a number of thermal imaging cameras which can be loaned to residents interested in investigating the state of their homes. If you would like to borrow a camera please call 03450 450 063 or email reception@scambs.gov.uk. You will need to bring photo ID plus separate proof of address along when you pick up the camera, and complete a (very) brief report for each property surveyed.

If you would like to become a member of this group and help work to improve sustainability in the area please contact me.
